General Background: 1. Matlaw’s develops all of its own products and owns all of the formulations. You can order Matlaw’s product secure in the knowledge that is not going to appear under another label with a competitor. 2. Matlaw’s controls all parts of the formulation, development and production process. In addition to owning the formulations, Matlaw’s sources all its raw material, and supervises all of the production. Our Vice President of Product Development and Production spends 9 months a year in Thailand. We have our own office there staffed with a full-time Production Manager, two Quality Control Managers, and logistics personnel.
Product Characteristics: Breading: All Matlaw’s breaded products (shrimp, calamari, various cakes) have Matlaw’s exclusive All Natural breading. A panko-style breading, it is baked fresh daily at the plant using the Matlaw’s formulation. It is then hand-crumbed when needed, and hand-applied to our range of products. In addition, all our breaded products are parfried in soybean oil. So all of our Matlaw’s breaded products have no trans fatty acids.
Sauces: All of the various sauces made by Matlaw’s are ALL Natural. Only fresh ingredients are used, nothing dried or emulsified. No chemicals. No preservatives. A typical sauce such as our garlic/butter or scampi sauce has an ingredient deck such as this: creamery butter, extra virgin olive oil, fresh white onion, fresh garlic, water, fresh parsley, unbleached wheat flour, sea salt, black pepper.
Shrimp: All of the shrimp used by Matlaw’s are ALL Natural. We process only from fresh, never from frozen. We do not use any sulphates or sulphites in our shrimp. These are commonly used to add weight. We don't even soak our shrimp in a salt solutions. So no preservative, no additives, no chemicals.
