Dave Saltonstall of DS Design Studio was approached by the Marketing Director of Adaptive Corporation who needed a designer for her remote team of professionals. Similar to other clients I’ve worked with, my working relationship developed years ago when we were colleagues at another company so the integration was seamless. The marketing team consisted of the Marketing Director, the Director of Digital Marketing, the Marketing Assistant, the Web Developer and I was brought on as the Graphic and Web Designer.

Upon my first discussion with the Marketing Director we agreed to move slowly which was an approach that had worked out well with HEAD Wintersports, Easter Seals, Cosmetic Imports and many other clients I’ve worked with. The first job required me to edit and update a roll up graphic utilizing an existing template for an upcoming trade show. Additional jobs followed and expanded into designing a new Adaptive Corporation website in collaboration with the team via GoToMeeting, Skype and email. The majority of my workload was designing graphics for sliders, twitter, newsletters and other digital marketing campaigns, trade shows, webinars and seminars.

The majority of digital marketing graphics were designed for particular market segments like PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), simulation or 3D printing. Projects often began with a general direction that I created custom graphics for after researching a particular market segment. Some of the events required certain branding so elements were utilized, edited and photoshop work was always required. Often times the deadlines we tight but are manageable due to an efficient and organized Marketing Assistant from the marketing team. Start-to-finish product sheets and editing existing collateral templates were part of the workload as well.

The Adaptive marketing team consisted of the same team members for Razorleaf and Razorleaf Government Solutions so I was added to those teams as well. Work provided included: designing digital marketing assets, editing existing collateral templates and collaborating with the team on designing the Razorleaf Government Solutions website.
